Dr Kotecha is a highly experienced and compassionate Consultant Cardiologist and an Interventionalist based in Devon, committed to providing exceptional care to patients with a wide range of heart conditions. He completed his early cardiology training in South Wales, London and Manchester before undertaking further specialist clinical training in Southwest England. He further honed his skills through the prestigious Bournemouth Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.
In 2017, He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Somerset, before returning to Devon in 2018 to join the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
Dr Kotecha combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to research and innovation. He was appointed NIHR Cardiac Research Network Lead for the Southwest Peninsula in 2019 and has presented his work at national and international conferences, as well as published in leading cardiology journals. He is also a strong advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion within healthcare and leads these initiatives for the NIHR in his region.
Elected through a national process, Dr Kotecha is a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society Council, reflecting his recognition by peers as a leader in interventional cardiology.
Dr Kotecha is passionate about preventive cardiology, focusing on heart disease prevention through blood pressure and lipid management, statin and novel therapies, healthy lifestyle promotion, and exercise. He believes in supporting patients to return to normal life after a heart attack and other heart conditions, and has special interest in cardiac rehabilitation.
He provides comprehensive care for a broad spectrum of heart conditions, including chest pain (angina), heart rhythm irregularities (atrial fibrillation), shortness of breath (heart failure), heart murmurs, and high blood pressure. He performs a wide range of procedures, including coronary angiography, angioplasty and stent implantation, and DC cardioversion for atrial fibrillation. He is an integral part of the 24/7 acute heart attack treatment (primary angioplasty) service and has a particular interest in advanced coronary interventions, including intracoronary imaging and the treatment of complex blockages.

Dr Kotecha personally organized and delivered cardiology charitable camps in rural parts of India. This initiative involved coordinating local healthcare providers, charities, and fundraising efforts, earning recognition from the local state government.
Outside his professional life, Dr Kotecha enjoys a fulfilling family life in Devon with his wife and two children. He is an avid cricket player, reflecting his belief in maintaining balance, health, and wellbeing.
